Classification of metal stamping parts by process
Stamping parts can be divided into the following categories according to their main processes:
Drawing parts
The blank (sheet material) has a large tensile and compressive deformation in the drawing process;
General drawing parts
Its drawing process is carried out on a single-action press under the condition of blank holding force. Such as beams, reinforcing plates, etc.;
Large covering parts
Its drawing process is mainly carried out on a double-action press;
External covering parts
Its curved surface is part of the outer surface, and the data is given by the outer design. During the structural design, the connection structure with the surrounding parts is enriched, divided into blocks and gaps; such as the door outer panel, the front outer panel, the side outer panel, the top cover, etc.;
Inner covering parts: Its curved surface structure is designed according to the requirements of function, strength, and stiffness. Such as the inner panel of the door, the inner panel of the rear panel, the floor, etc.;
Molding parts
In the molding process, the blank has local drawing, compression and bending deformation, and its main process is carried out on a single-action press without blank holding force. Such as beams, reinforcing plates, etc.;
Bending parts (press-bending parts)
In the bending process, the blank material only has bending deformation, and basically no stretching or compression deformation. There are processes such as press bending, curling, and rolling forming. Such as brackets, hinges, etc.
