Introduction to Metal Bending Process
Bending is a cold stamping forming process and a core step in sheet metal processing (laser cutting/blank → bending → welding/tapping → surface treatment). It involves applying a bending moment to the metal sheet using the upper die (punch) of a bending machine, causing plastic deformation at the bending line to form a predetermined angle (90°/45°/135°/arc, etc.) and bending edge length.
Key Features: Cold working, no material loss, high forming precision, high efficiency, suitable for batch processing of sheet metal parts; bending is used in the vast majority of sheet metal structural components.
Applicable Sheet Metals: Cold-rolled SPCC, hot-rolled Q235, stainless steel 201/304/316, aluminum 5052/6061, galvanized/aluminized zinc sheet, brass/copper, etc. It is a standard process for sheet metal parts.
