What factors need to be considered when designing a stamping process
In a metal stamping parts processing plant, metal stamping parts that have been bent will rebound. In order to prevent the rebound of the size of the stamping parts, the following factors must be considered when designing the stamping process:
1. Mechanical properties of the material. The rebound angle is proportional to the yield strength of the material and inversely proportional to the elastic modulus;
2. The relative bending radius of the material; when other conditions are the same, the rebound angle increases with the increase of the relative bending radius. Therefore, the size of the rebound angle can be determined according to the ratio of the relative bending radius;
3. The shape of the bent part. Generally, the rebound angle of a U-shaped part is smaller than that of a V-shaped part.
4. Die clearance. When bending a U-shaped part, the larger the gap of the die, the larger the rebound angle;
5. Correction degree. When correcting at the end of bending, the degree of correction is different, and the degree of reduction of the rebound angle is also different. The greater the correction degree, the smaller the rebound angle.
When designing the stamping process for bent parts, it is necessary to fully consider the various factors that affect springback and produce bent stamping parts that meet technical requirements.
